Chapter Eleven

Asia awoke to loud moaning noises. It sounded as if someone was wrestling or something. Actually, she didn’t know what it sounded like—it wasn’t a normal sound.

“Okay, Asia. Should you get up or lie here?” she whispered, looking around the darkened room, not really seeing much.

Asia blindly reached to the night table for her cell phone. She pressed the button mainly so that it would light up so she could see what time it was.

“What the hell; 3:30 a.m.?” she whispered, frowning at her cell. She then turned on the lamp and climbed out of the bed. Walking barefoot across the room, she slowly opened the door.

The sound was a little louder now. Whimpering noises. Not sure what to do, she decided to see if Sinjin was awake. Asia tiptoed to his room, where the door was left ajar. She started to call out his name, but quickly realized that the noises she was hearing were coming from his room.

She pushed the door open and slipped quietly into the room. She found a partially nude Sinjin tossing and turning across the king-sized bed. Covers were scattered everywhere.

Asia didn’t know what to do. He was having what appeared to be one hell of a nightmare. He was fighting with himself.

“Okay, Asia, what do you do now?” she whispered.

“Think,” she said to herself, shifting from one foot to the other. It suddenly dawned on her. Whenever she touched him, it seemed to calm him. He’d said so himself.

“Yeah, Asia, but how do you do that in his condition?” He seemed to be getting more aggressive by the minute. Asia very slowly walked over toward the bed and hesitantly reached her hand out to touch him before quickly pulling it back. She didn’t want to startle him.

“Sinjin,” she called softly. He continued to toss and turn.

“Sin,” she called again and this time gently touched his exposed calf. He seemed to calm down a little when she touched him, so she did it again. His whimpering lessened.

Asia went to remove her hand from his leg, but before she knew it, he’d grabbed her hand and brought it to his chest—startling her. He was still asleep. Seeing as he was comfortable and had quieted down, she inched down on the floor next to the bed, her hand still in his on his chest. She laid her head on the mattress and began to sing softly His Eye Is On The Sparrow, softly to him until she feel off to sleep…sitting on the floor next to the bed, her head lying on the mattress.

“Why the hell do we keep doing this shit?” Sinjin asked his men and comrades.

“I don’t know, Grim…justice, maybe,” Red answered.

Sinjin sneered. “Justice. We’ll see. Cysco, I think I see movement on your side,” Sinjin said into his mouthpiece.

“Gotcha, Grim,” Cysco acknowledged.

Sinjin looked through his night goggles. He could see into the guarded house where the girls were being kept. “Damn. Seems like they bring more girls in by the day.
